Here is a simple recipe for making Tom Yum soup using Tom Yum paste:

- 1 liter of water
- 2-3 tablespoons of Tom Yum paste
- 200g peeled and deveined shrimp
- 2 limes
- 2 stalks of lemongrass (optional)
- 3-5 Makrut lime leaves
- 5 button mushrooms
- 1 handful of cherry tomatoes cut in half
- 1-2 tablespoons of fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon of palm sugar (or brown sugar or white sugar)
- 2 bird's eye chilies (optional)
- Fresh coriander for garnish
In a pot, boil water with Tom Yum paste until the paste is well mixed with water.
Add lemongrass cut into large pieces and Makrut lime leaves.
Add shrimp and mushrooms cut into quarters.
Add fish sauce and palm sugar (or brown sugar) to balance the flavors. Start with a small amount.
