MARINADE FOR BEEF

MARINADE FOR BEEF

Servings: 2-4
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 10-15 minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • 450 grams of beef (such as flank steak or rib-eye)
  • 1/4 cup lemongrass and tamarind chili paste (or less)
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

STEPS AND INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a bowl, mix the Buriram lemongrass and tamarind chili paste, soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, ginger, brown sugar, salt and pepper. Mix well until the marinade is well combined.
  2. Place the beef in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag.
  3. Pour the marinade over the beef, making sure it is evenly coated. If using a plastic bag, seal it tightly, removing as much air as possible.
  4. Marinate the beef in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or ideally overnight for the best flavor.
  5. When you're ready to cook, preheat your grill or skillet to medium-high heat.
  6. Remove the beef from the marinade and discard the excess marinade.
  7. Cook the beef on the grill or in the pan for a few minutes on each side, or until cooked to your liking.
  8. Once cooked, remove the beef from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
  9. Serve the marinated beef hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
